Mastering the Masters

Now that recession plays a big role in deciding the next step of our careers.. i would like to take a moment and have a discussion about the next milestone of our lives. More or less all our authors will surely pursue a Masters in either Business Administration or Technical Grounds, sooner or later.

So what is it gonna be? is the big question lingering in our minds........ ( or atleast in my mind:) ) Me being a techno-functionoal aspirant.. not sure of what to do next!!!

So if i probably listen to the perspective of colleagues and friends like you guys, there might come a spark based on which i can proceed to the next level.. Might sound a lil selfish. but still a very healthy discussion is projected!!! What is it gonna be ppl ??? MS or MBA,...

Pronounce ur verdict and give us an insight on what plans you have chalked down for ur future..

மஞ்ச சொக்கா

The day is approaching guys... Time to put B.Tech after our names :)

Gone are the days in which we stepped into A 120 for classes... Oh my God it has become a studio!!

"STAY IN TOUCH" will be the words echoing everywhere, but practically it is going to be
மனசே மனசே மனசில் பாரம்
நண்பர் கூட்டம் பிரியும் நேரம்
I am sure we people will stay in touch, but we can't meet up together "very often", so lets compensate for that by taking a pic which we can have forever...

I could not restrain myself from pointing this blunder:

Sub: Graduation Ceremony 2009 – June 3, 2009 (Wednesday)
The Graduation Ceremony 2009 is scheduled at 4.30 pm on Thursday the 3rd June 2009. We
invite you to participate and receive the certificates.

How is that June 3rd has suddenly become Thursday!!

Such a nice invitation from such a reputed institution...

IPL

Guys dont get bugged up on my continued cricket posts. The IPL season 2 ended up with the underdogs ruling the roost, the Deccan Chargers and Royal Challengers Bangalore. This victory is a great tribute to one of the greats of cricket Adam Gilchrist and he deserves one. It may be the INDIAN premier league,if one had noticed the rophy so far has been lifted by the teams which were captained by retired AUSSIES(Gilly and Warne).Kumble the fighter has done exceptionally well in bringing his team right to the top slot yet he missed a trick or two in the final.

Coming to the Aussie point, this raises questions about the capacity of the other Indian captains also that of brendon Mccullum's skills in planning and motivating their team. As far as CSK are concerned i would rather support Dhoni as he marshalled his limited bowling resources well. Delhi was a team on which everyone could bet on ,yet the faltered when it mattered. This shows the inability of the Indian captains to deal with pressure situations. Also when two runs were needed to win in the last over Mumbai still lost to Rajasthan Royals, one who holds his nerves wins.

For me the outstanding Indian captain of IPL 2009 is M.S Dhoni. He might hav failed at certain junctures but when compared to the others he has done exceptionally well.Thats why he is the captain of the Indian cricket team.

Apart from technique and strategies the youngsters should learn from the other greats of the game the one quality that lies at the threshold of greatness and normality, temprament, the skill and courage to perform at pressure situations.

MY TEAM

With the IPL ending in grand gala it is now time for India to defend it,s T20 title, with the world cup starting on June 5th,The IPL surely showcasedd many talents. My team for the worldcup T20 is:
1. Gautam Gambhir
2.Virender Sehwag
3. Suresh Raina
4.Yuvraj singh
5.Mahendra Singh Dhoni
6. Rohit Sharma
7.Yusuf Pathan
8.Irfan pathan
9.Harbhajan Singh
10 Zaheer khan
11 R.P Singh
if we need one more spinner pragyan Ohja can be brought in instead of Irfan. As there is much spin in top the order with the likes of Yuvy,Yusuf,Raina,Viru,Rohit there will not be a need for two specialist spinners. With the kind of form these guys are in ,India should be the T20 champs for the second time. Still there is a major flaw in this team.Finisher Jogi is not in the squad. Howzzat!!!

Parthathum Rasithathum

Certain things are etched very deeply in our minds and last a lifetime. They necessarily neednt be something mesmerizing or fantasizing to the normal eye, but would have captivated our minds to a large extent that we always have them in some corner of our mind and remind ourselves of it time and again.

It can be a person, a thing, a pet, a building or a world wonder... Ithellam thaan personal diary pages ah dominate pannum illaya......so let us share those kind of incidents or trademarks of life in this post. There have been several such instances or encounters in my life that have fascinated and took me by awe!! Let me rewind back to some such cool enchanting stuff

1. My mom's intrinsic ability to do what she does in the name of art.. Tanjore paintings, oil paintings, portraits, fur dolls, crossstitch.. hoof u name it and she tops it all...

2. My manager... his inborn character to get people to listen to him. The lesson i learnt from him is that, the more ur not approachable and not understandable, the better a manager u wld be.. his command of voice, articulation excellence, ability to tell a story in 'n' different conflicting ways and make them all sound correct!!!! I really wonder how people do that

3. I've always been fascinated by the species of dolphins and penguins.. they are so damn brilliant and intellectual.. i saw this dolphin show at the amphitheatre live in the planetarium at singapore.. that day i can never forget.! I shld accept the fact that these creatres do better maths than me :)

4. The Shanghai international airport... wat a building yaar..! What a construction, architecture and elite structure it is.. phheewww..it has had such a great impact on me..

5. The invention of pizzas :)).. The delicacy always makes me drooll.. saturation point eh vara matinguthu ;)

6. Last, but not least.... God's own creation... THE HUMAN BEINGS... what a genius prodiguous creation it is.. Said to be the complete and wholesome creation which is the paramount of all existence and the only living being with the sixth sense... But ivlo irunthum manithanuku theeratha aasaigalum ellai illatha perasaigalum irupathal......................................................

God now looks back at his decision to have brought us into this divine planet :)

Competition's Hot's Up

Hey guys.. coming back to internal affairs.. IT sabha elections are approaching a neck nd neck finish.. its very tough to give the verdict.. Who's gonna be entitled, who's gonna be the fittest of the lot... Will there be a twist in the tale.. nothing seems evident!!! Who will be the culprit candidate amongst us??

Ait folks.. enough of the hyping up and puzzling.. the countdown begins.. 3.....2.....1 and on 18th of may we will all come to know who is the person (infact gal) who is to be celebrated as the BIG TIME TOPPER of the dazzling IT batch 2005-09. Now, this is a prestigious title remember. Atleast to the person who earns it, it will be all gala and delight..

Now.. BEHIND THE SCENES.. When i personally interviewed each of the capable 2 candidates individually i came to know this reality. Both these woman contestants are repetitively blaming the other one to be the hot shot topper... ithulla yena oru comedy na rendu perume chorus ah say this - "hey chance eh illa, it ll be her only. she will top this sem and become the OFFICIAL IT-AZHVAR of our batch".. I dont know where this blame game will end, but i wish both these candidates to end up in a tie and there will be a re-election where both these gals will write all 8 semester examinations to decide who the LAST-WOMAN-STANDING will be ;)

Ur verdict guys ...........................

IPL or IBL (Indian business league)

IPL,the heart beat of one billion Indians etc etc. But it is commercialization to the worst possible extent. . IPl ,provides a lot of opportunity to the youngsters. They get to interact and learn a lot form the greats of the game. But the business motive behind it is alarming.Gulu Eziekel a freelance sports writer rightly points out," whenever a six is being hit the commentators rather than calling it a six say it as dlf maximum. When a catch or run out is effected they instead of applauding the efforts of the fielder describe it as citi-moment of success(citi bank is a sponsor).
IPL has lured greats like Adam Gilchrist, Matthew hayden etc to retire from their international duties"They also choose a person as miss bollywood for every match ,as if they are going to give them a chance in their forthcoming hindi films, not to mention the cheergirls who take commercialization to the worst extent.
What does cricket got to do with the likes of mandira bedi who dont know the technicalities of cricket. The greatness of the game is being reduced to rubble. Well the emphasis is made on the atmosphere and crowd rather than the pitch and the strategies of the game.

Indian premier league has become very popular in South Africa for the amount it donates for the education in SA during the strategic time-out.What did the INDIAN premier league do to INDIANS the previous season?Every match they show the trophy and thank the sponsors for making IPL possible.
Another allegation is the racism shown by the Kolkata Knight riders foreign towards the Indian players in the camp, their performance describes it all.Jeffrey Archer rightly described during his recent visit to Mumbai,"cricket is not 20-20. It is all about Rahul Dravid and VVS laxman batting the whole day". We might not find such matches so interesting. 20-20 is fine with the entertainment it provides. But making it a minting machine ...is unhealthy for the spirit of the game.

UnSpoken friends...

Hi frens.. As u all know, Our batch was a kinda uncoordinated set till t end.. I hope there will few of them.. to whom u wudnt hav uttered even a single word in these four years.. I jus wan u 2 list out them.. Hope U shud hav atleast one or two..

INDIA IS SHINING.....

India has moved to the front from, being a third world country.yet certain unsavoury incidents give me the impression that our country would have become the greatest nation if not for such people. Here are some
1) i had gone to the state bank to open an account for me.the first time i went they said nno forms were available which was a blatant lie.so after a week i went to open an account, thank my stars they gave me the account form.i finished all the formalities and gave my form to the person who was incharge of opening the accounts. but that guy was chatting on his cell. This went on and on and he was just ignoring the other elderly persons who were standing in the queue. Well then came a man known to him and he attended to his request immediately, ignoring the other senior citizens standing there. I could not help getting angry by this as my account opening wasw also being delayed. After five hours at the bank and after telling a lot of lies that i had come from very far off blah blah my account was opened.
2) let me cut this short . For giving broadband bsnl connection i had to pick up the person from the telephone exchange. and after i had enquired about his availability and when i went there they made me to wait for half an hour and said he was engaged in someother work. I just gave them a dressing down for their poor information. Net result i got my broadband connection two days later than the scheduled time.
These guys dont deserve their salary either. They are getting paid for lazing around. Is this how we expect democratic India to be?
any such incidents please share........

THE JOURNEY STARTS....

well here goes all our fun and frollicking. With the college life coming to an end, our journey into the real world starts. Many of us would have had a slight taste of what is in stock for us ,atleast for the next five years. Loads of responsibilities, dealing with people and money , many career influencing decisions to make... the list is endless. It is time we shed the skin of being a college student and get into some serious business,to learn what is going around us. I may be too futuristic about what i speak yet this is what that lies ahead of us. The way we think ,we behave must be matured. This will evolve out of years of professional life. But we must be prepared to adapt quickly into this transition, college graduate-professional.Hope this does not sound too serious....

The Curious Case of Information Technology

Hey guys.. Doesnt it sound a lil intriguing and familiar.. The second half of the phrase would ring a bell in our heads,.. But why Curious Case!! The thing about IT is that, it is known for this caption very prominently.. "The worst batch of students that the department has ever had"

But lets do an RCA.. Is this cliche that we've been hearing and people have been uttering true>>> "Worst batch ever seen...".. Well i would disagree... If we dig deep, i can give you some good stats about our batch in particular.

1. Well, we are the only class who constantly utilized the hired staff properly (kept them on their toes to chase us for assignments, attendance lag, record etc.,) 2. We were the only ones who kept our souls clean by not participating in any of the college or intercollege events 3. We kept our identities confidential and secret to the college by not winning or clinching any prize or award on intracollege events (Exhibits our Humble, Down to earth, non-greedy nature) 4. Above all we have dontated so much money to charity in the name of ITA where all the money flows into the Ghajana and nothing ever comes out in favor of us 5. U might think this is all, but no, we also have had some phenomenol academic records of arrears 6. Last, but not least, we exceptionally stood united as a class for all 4 years and set an example for Pirkaala sangathigal

Enough of the naked truth :) Lets look at the positive side of it. All though we were a diverse crowd, we still stood together and achieved 99 percent placement results and decent figures of dual placements.... Above all there was a close contender, whom, i still feel should have been the BEST OUTGOING STUDENT of our college.. Lieutenant Rogers Jeffrey. Lets all confide that this deserving chap will get his credentials in some other disguised form of blessing. We've also had some ground-breaking geniuses who have shone their worth time and again. Beyond all this we have some strong college club participation. Distinguished members from our class have earned top notch positions in renowned clubs like STUDENTS UNION, NSS, NCC, ISTE, IE, YRC, FINE ARTS and many more. Guys pls do include the few more that i've left in that list :)

What do you think of this people???

In our final year, Valedictory Function for ITA was conducted by Mr.ITA Secretary... Well as you know I was supposed to get the certificate and 500 bugs...
Mr.Secretary was very modest not to inform me ;) but he was also very humble in informing our HOD and ITA faculty-in-charge that "I am busy with my project work and I will not be able to attend the function!!"

If not now when to talk about this... I went to our faculty-in-charge to get my certificate... He asked me "yen ma varala??"
"inform pannala sir varala"
"Oh inform pannalaya!!! Unga class pasanga kitta thaane inform panna solli irundhen, paniten nee vara mudiyadu nu sonnangale!!!"
"Sir vara mudiyada alavukku naan romba busy a illa, appadiye irundhalum enakku badila en appa ammavayo illa vera yaaryo vanga solli iruppen"
"Oh romba sorry ma... certificate unga class pasanga kitta thaan irukku vangikareengala?"
"Illa sir ennala kekka mudiyadu, neengale kettu vangi kuduthudunga!"
This happened in the morning... after lunch...
Sir, "vanga ma... certificate engayo misplace panitaangalamam, pudu certificate ezhudi vechurukken ma... Kasu Mr.Secretary vandadum vangi kuduthudaren ma, appo Sign vangikalaam HOD kittendu..."
"Seri sir thanks"

I went directly to HOD... I am not a stupid girl to let him beleive this nonsense[he very well knows that I attended alumini association function on a week day that too Wednesday!!]... The very first thing he asked was, why had I not come... I told him that I was not informed, he was way too shocked... He told me that it was so bad to see the name being announced and nobody coming on the stage atleast as a substitute to get the award! I just told him all that could have happened if I had known it before... And to atleast avoid such a an incident to happen in the future... He was happy that I came and met him...

Evening...
Sir, "Neenga idhukkapuram college ku varuveengala??" -> meaning after review day!!!
"Veetukku varumbodu thaan sir vara mudiyum"
"Oh appo vandu vangikareengla?"
"Seri sir"
After a week...
Sir,"Avanunga kaasa return eh pannala ma, en kai kaasu pottu moonu perukku kuduthurukken, notice pogum avangalukku money settlement sambandama!!"
Wow what a happiness... It surged through my blood... At last in the four years atleast once because of stealing Mr.Secretary and Mr.Cashier [or whatever the other persons post is] are going to be given notice :) :) :)

PS:
1. The other two people who dint receive certificates were ME students who were working in the lab when the Valedictory function was going on... that was the amount of Information, Infromation Technology Association secretary passes on...

2. I dint mention the names not because of hiding them or fear or something like that but I feel disgusted to mention them... ;)

Stuck up with some technical problem??

Now that all of us are going to enter the real world, atleast now we got to know how to deal with it. "Stuck up with some technical problem??", I am sure this condition would have happened many a times at college for you and in your intern also. We reach some point in coding or any technical activity and thereon we are unable to proceed. There are very good websites that can aid during those times. Almost all top people of the industry will be in such websites, so we can surely find a quick solution :). Not just that we can be the contributors too, in the fields where we are strong. I am sure sometime this will be useful for you :)

This post gives you the links of top websites:

Virtual Existence

We all have passions, dreams, interests, priniciples, philosophies and plans. All these elements act together and contribute to an individual's next step. But, but, not all the time we get what we want or achieve what we have in mind...

So let us atleast have this virtual existence freedom to describe all what we had imagined to achieve or planned to endure. We can use this chance to describe all the wildest of ambitions and next-to-impossible plans we had for ourselves and did not end up being there ! I, for eg., wanted to follow my dad's footsteps and migrate to a dream city like Paris and practice Medicine.... I also wanted to second pablo picassa and display my artwork in Louvre (P.S: I cant even draw a straight line!!!).... Wanted to become a football player and take India to the FIFA championship, which is in the verge of happening :).... I've also wanted to work in Cadbury's and eat each chocolate as it gets manufactured ;)

Last, but not least, now we wanna start off an online restaurant where people can eat, drink and digest online ...... Naaaaaa.. jus kidding.. Or probably launch a brand of clothes/tuxedo with inbuilt air conditioning to bear the gentle heat in all parts of our country.... (Especially my part of the country- Delhi :))

A Message

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with a bag of potato chips and a six-pack of root beer and started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was sitting in the park, just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old lady looked hungry, so he offered her some chips. She gratefully accepted it and smiled at him.

Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered her a root beer. Again, she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.

As twilight approached, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave; but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the old woman, and gave her a hug. She gave him her biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, "What did you do today that made you so happy?" He replied, " I had lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? She's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"

Meanwhile, the old woman, also radiant with joy, returned to her home. Her son was stunned by the look of peace on her face and he asked, "Mother, what did you do today that made you so happy?" She replied! "I ate potato chips in the park with God." However, before her son responded, she added, " You know, he's much younger than I expected."

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of Which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime! Embrace all equally!

** A good forward.... Felt like sharing

Lets make our vote count

The competition is hot's up.. 4th phase of polling is done and delhi achieved a good feat of polling percentage of 53 percent and the ever spoken about mumbai has a poor polling figure of only 43 percent ..

Amidst all this havoc... The political parties are off-leash and any form of post poll alliance seems possible.. This is the height of instability and insecurity., if tommorow's leaders are so unpredictable and not trust worthy.! How can we feel safe about our futures.. Hmmmmm.. The thought that seeps through every informed indian is this !

Now let us play around with this a lil bit. I want a you guys to make a poll prediction on which party do you think will come to power this elections
  1. Congress
  2. BJP
  3. Non Congress-Non BJP Secular Forces
  4. Congress with Secular parties
  5. BJP with Secular parties

War of the Kings

"Superkings thrashed the kings", and critics nominate it as one of the best battles of the IPL season 2.....

Yet again, the chennai superkings have proven their superior demolishing power in the IPL arena through their arch warriors Hayden, Reina & Mahendra Singh Dhoni.. The one man who turns anything that he touches to Gold!
The kings XI punjab pushed hard, but, in the end the best man won - Dhoni.

So wat do u guys think.. Do we chennai lions lift the cup, make the honor and grab the top this time???

Skyscraping Heights of Recession

Let alone all the sarcasm that has come along with this economic crisis, i would like to share with you a true funny incident that had come across my lane a couple of days back in office.. :)

It was a fine morning where i got up late as usual, quick bath, rapid dressing, swift breakfast and rushed to get the cab. Since office hrs are flexible there was no question of running late to office. Took the usual break at around 11ish and went to the coffee zone and opened the refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of coke; Poured it out into a cup to relish it over a chat of vetti office talk

Here comes the irony. As soon as i poured the coke into the glass cup, the security walked towards me. He told me something in Hindi. P.S. All the Hindi i know is good enough for market stuff, and not office conversations :)... He showed me a sticky note that read something written in hindi againn !!!! But thank the mighty lord that i could make out what he was saying... And guess what
"Sir... Each coke is to be shared by 2 people"
And that's how bad it is guys.!! The comedy doesnt end there. I asked him (with what lil hindi i knew), what do you expect me to do with the other half bhaiya!!!

"Ji, Ur supposed to bring a partner along with you to finish it!!!!"
That's how funny it got !! Then i told myself ( As i did not know how to communicate in hindi what i thought :) )
"What the hell.!!! Do i have to search for a partner each time i wanna have a cool drink !!!!!!"

What do you guys think about this huh......

And this is well proved by our Student records holding our photos....( Epadi irundha naan ipadi aaitannu)... So the replies must not be in a single word telling nice, ok, good, bad etc. Expecting ur answers in detail(hehe...)

The different faces

Hey guys.. just like the different faces we encounter in college life.. we also came up with so many different ideas out of a brainstorming chat for a title of this baby blog of ours..

And i thought it would be kind of interesting to reveal what went behind the scenes. So here goes the cursor to shed some light on some of the hysterical, intriguing, and impressive blog site names that we came up with...

Taliban Terrorists ------ dreamsunITed---------- IronynIT --------- SugarnSpice --------- AgileSodality --------- E-Rem --------- Resolute-Fraternity --------- Coimbatore Warriors --------- Salt & Water --------- SunnyIce --------- Sesame-Street --------- OrchardBloom --------- Sunflower Seeds --------- Dew-Drops --------- Blossom-Hunters --------- EternalBlossom --------- SalaamSausage --------- SPRING2SUMMER --------- SalaamSummer --------- Miracles --------- Paradise --------- SummerSpice --------- Eyeswideopen --------- DivinePalace --------- DivineTribute --------- Dosa-Pizza --------- IdliVadaDosa --------- Vettivelai.com --------- Sweettooth --------- Enigma

And finally we got out of the maze with Spring2Summer as the final call; i would also like to make it a point to issue a COPYRIGHT against all these sexy names :).. It was a splendid time of the day we had, in rolling out these silly sweet wonderful ideas. Some of these we had a hearty laugh at. And some others we took a serious round of polling to come up with a decision !

This is a forum which we guys should dedicate to the evergreen college memories we shared(i doubt if there are any) The blogs neednt be all college... It can be anything that might add value or make the reader feel good. So we can have articles about memorable days in college, forgettable incidents, personal experiences on any grounds, some interesting facts, hot news revolving in the society, people we met, about office miseries :), and any day to day incidents that might be sensible contributions will be entertained and appreciated.

Looking forward to see some funny, witty, and sensical stuff down the scroll.. Cheers guys
