What makes College life the biggest step in everyone's personal life? It is not the academics, nor the responsibility.. It has always been the necessity to move out of our comfort zone we have been pampered in all along school life and parental care. The transition is big and the shift in paradigm is enormous to accomodate to easily. What makes it even more difficult is to build the ability to survive in a habitat of mixed culture. We have ppl from all around the globe mingling with us in 1 campus-hall.
When u actually take a closer look, we all find it difficult to fit in the groove becuz it is tough to change the way we are and the way we do things. These are sowed deep in us by the roots of the place we come from, the lifestyle that it carries and the people of the society whom we learn and adopt from. Hence, the City / Township we come from has a large influence in who we are. So we could all share what we have come across in each of the citie(s) we have been raised. To me, it is the one major factor that defined my character. I am sure it is for each one of you. It would be lovely to hear about the practice / culture / custom each city possesses.

ReplyDeletePeople and Neighbourhood : People whom u r frnz with ll do ath n eth 4 u. Evry1 want their sons/daughters to b a doctor and if not an engineer. Have many national and international sports champion.
Weakness : People don come out of their house. Thieves hav a comfortable place to live in. A wrong word, it ll spread out like fire.
Places of beauty and Charm : Evergreen always. Have the asia's second largest 'Natarajar' statue made of 'panchalogam'. No specific place of beauty, but u can c the roads completely covered with yellow and red flowers with no black to fill during spring morning. i ll say it awesome.
I wud like to add one more topic.
Famous for: Ofcourse 'Lignite' :)

people. People who still follow the Tamil culture. U can learn the respect.
Weakness : Still have to develop a lot. No gr8 hang outs.

Climate used to be lovely when I was young, it was sold away by felling trees :(, hills are simply awesome, temples, peaceful atmosphere[very fast becoming a past :(]
People and Neighborhood:
My neighbourhood has been a pakka agraharam once, proper discipline, daily temple worship, music classes, colony activities :)
Then friends[of course including you people :)], awesome people all of them, till date have proper contact with many of my school friends :), any help all will stand beside to do anything
Most of the people follow our culture properly, that is something I am proud about.
Weakness: Traffic now a days :(, was supposed to be a very peaceful city before all those bomb blast and hindu-muslim fights happened :(
Places of beauty & charm: Temples especially marudhamalai and koniyamman temple :), Hills that can be climbed easily, greeny fields, forests

People and Neighborhood: the good thing about people is that they mind their own business and the bad think abt them is that they mind their own business. Little Helping tendency
and some people tend to be bossy.
Watch out for these weakness:very small place, few places to roam abt to access distant places buses seem a rare commodity.
Places of beauty & charm: bragadeeshwarar temple(Big Temple) , kumbakonam , my very own house, many temples to vist (whose names i dunno)

Things i've loved about it:
Calmness nd climate - most people dont know this fact.
This place is called "Little London". This name is gvn by
the Britishers during their reign.
People and Neighborhood:
v can find all kind of people both gud nd bad.
Watch out for these weakness:
Water problem, the ground water has large amount of
flouride content. We rely only on lakes, though the
mighty cauvery enters tamilnadu via our place.
Places of beauty & charm:
Hogenekkal - the 24/7 waterfall.
Adhiyaman kottai - people who studied tamil will know abt
him, "avvaiku nellikani kodutha adhiyaman".
Dharmapuri is the one among the two places which has a
temple for kala bairavar.
Other specialities:
Dharmapuri produces a wide variety of mangoes. But no one
knows tis as thy r commonly called as salem mangoes.
Our place is famous for charity, so the name,
"Dharmam" "puri" - do charity.
And we can say a lot when it comes to Dharmapuri.. But i want 2 stop here considering the limitation for blog size.. ;)

best places in India to settle for all class of people.
Things i've loved about it:
The Dharmapuri-Salem highway thru the thoppur ghat. U can
buy all kind of things in salem.
People and Neighborhood:
Salem people are different from others. In most of t areas
people celebrate mariamman pandigai every month and for
every street.
Watch out for these weakness: Sunny climate, Heavy Traffic, U cant find big malls and trademarked food chains.
Places of beauty & charm:
Yercaud, beautiful place with splendid sceneries. A must go
place for any1 in TN.
It has many small hill temples. Few are kandhashrama malai,
chithari kovil and so many.
It has the largest number of theaters in Tamilnadu. You
can find a cinema hall wherever u go.
