Looks - very similar to 1 rupee coin
Feels - even less worthier than a rupee
:( of what all I know of it, coins are released by the Government to make people feel free to spend that money,
அதாவது சில்லறை என்ற எண்ணம் வர :)
5 rupee was released years back, people objected like anything for that initially, atleast it was bulky, and really felt like 5 rupees, on the contrary 10 rupee coin does not feel like ten rupee at all!!
Left my 10 rupee coins which my mom gave at home, will take a pic and put in this post soon :)
Have any of you guys seen 1 paise or 2 paise coin? Have lots of them at home :) Will upload pics of them soon :) When I was small, my mom had got one plastic box as gift for giving 1 paise coin :) so many of you guys might not have seen it.
And 25 paise is out of the race is what I heard, poor guy, so all of you safeguard your 25 paise coins, might be our grandsons/granddaughters might see it with awe ;)
PS: Never dreamed I will put some economy related post ;) :P So guys who have better knowledge do write those in comments :)

ReplyDeleteActually i deal in dollar and euro and so am not aware of the 10 rupee coin . But as a collector of some inqustive coins i would like too see it in fact exchange one for a ten rupee note :)dunno what will happen to the one rupee coin next :) And now the umpires have got a new coin to toss in cricket :) one interesting abt coins is that they are minted only in 4 places in India not to mention the foreign placesand coins from a particular place have a particular mark to identify the place of minting.

Will give one to you when you give treat :) Hey there is one 50 paise coin in between, I guess still that is in use :) This is one doubt I have never bothered to get cleared: what coin is being tossed for cricket? Is it Indian? If so, what coin in a non-Indian match? That site was cool :) thanks :)
ReplyDeletethe thing abt cricket is that till now they were using a five rupee coin now onwards they will use a ten rupee coin. But this is for matches on Indian soil only.Respective ccountries will use their highest denominated coin as far as i know :)
ReplyDeleteCool :) what if the host country does not mint coins?
ReplyDeletenow you might know where the ten rupee coin posted in the image would have been minted:)
ReplyDeleteoh god almost all countries have currencies and coins i.e all nations under icc so they dont have to worry :) in case such need arises icc might formulate a new clause :)+
ReplyDeleteOh is it? I really dint know that all cricket playing nations had coins :)
ReplyDelete:)now you got it :)
