MEMORABLE DIALOGUES

Almost all of us watch films and would have been fascinated by the special effects ,story line, acting etc. Here is a different fascination of mine ,when it comes to some good dialogues (may be punch dialogues too ;not the Bond ! James Bond dialogues). I would like to mention some of them mostly from english movies, please post your favourite dialogues or even some particular twists you have loved, in the movie u have seen.

1)It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.
Batman Begins -Christian Bale quotes this after saving a boy and the heroine from the maniacs

2) The Joker Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was... a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not-one-bit. So - me watching - he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it! Turns to me, and he says, "why so serious, son?" Comes at me with the knife... "Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth... "Let's put a smile on that face!" And... Why so serious?
Heath Ledger's acting in the entire movie is nonpareil.

Special half century

Wanted this post to be very special, want to share good places where we can easily contribute daily. Have become a daily user of

http://www.care2.com/

Special things on this site:

1. Click to donate: Each click really contributes to that matter that is associated with it
2. Petitions: House arrested people have been released by getting petitions e-signed from care2 volunteers
3. Greetings in this site does not look as great as commercial ones, but it donates money for need, now somehow there is some bug with the greetings part of this site.

Donate 2 seconds:

An application in orkut, which allows us to click daily for donating food to the needy.

Do not know if this link will work fine:

http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#Application.aspx?uid=9840943841051573771&appId=502717783939&rl=ls

If it does not you can find that application in my orkut profile.

I do not know how many of you guys have seen my other blog:
http://lovely-lifes-inner-sense.blogspot.com/

Mine is also not 6 months young, so waiting to create an ad sense account, planning to use this money for donation by many means, so please do read my blog and contribute to that once I am able to host ads. And do suggest improvements also :)

One major thought of mine I want to share with you people, when it comes to donation and helping dont just think of top notch NGO's, they will always get donations, think of mini orgs and find them and do contribute to them also.

10 has become change few months back

Wanted to write about the new ten rupee coin. Have you guys seen it? It was out before few months, dont remember exactly when. Was eagerly awaiting it, but it made me sad though:

Looks - very similar to 1 rupee coin
Feels - even less worthier than a rupee

:( of what all I know of it, coins are released by the Government to make people feel free to spend that money,

அதாவது சில்லறை என்ற எண்ணம் வர :)

5 rupee was released years back, people objected like anything for that initially, atleast it was bulky, and really felt like 5 rupees, on the contrary 10 rupee coin does not feel like ten rupee at all!!

Left my 10 rupee coins which my mom gave at home, will take a pic and put in this post soon :)

Have any of you guys seen 1 paise or 2 paise coin? Have lots of them at home :) Will upload pics of them soon :) When I was small, my mom had got one plastic box as gift for giving 1 paise coin :) so many of you guys might not have seen it.

And 25 paise is out of the race is what I heard, poor guy, so all of you safeguard your 25 paise coins, might be our grandsons/granddaughters might see it with awe ;)

From the net :)

PS: Never dreamed I will put some economy related post ;) :P So guys who have better knowledge do write those in comments :)

Me, My City & its Tales

What makes College life the biggest step in everyone's personal life? It is not the academics, nor the responsibility.. It has always been the necessity to move out of our comfort zone we have been pampered in all along school life and parental care. The transition is big and the shift in paradigm is enormous to accomodate to easily. What makes it even more difficult is to build the ability to survive in a habitat of mixed culture. We have ppl from all around the globe mingling with us in 1 campus-hall.

When u actually take a closer look, we all find it difficult to fit in the groove becuz it is tough to change the way we are and the way we do things. These are sowed deep in us by the roots of the place we come from, the lifestyle that it carries and the people of the society whom we learn and adopt from. Hence, the City / Township we come from has a large influence in who we are. So we could all share what we have come across in each of the citie(s) we have been raised. To me, it is the one major factor that defined my character. I am sure it is for each one of you. It would be lovely to hear about the practice / culture / custom each city possesses.

Bleeding Chips to Rocking Score

What wud u call this.. luck, a fling or probably a coincidence?? I am sure i would call this a Team Effort. Hats off to all these authors who have made this feat look simple. Based out of a very mundane and boredom filled class we managed to exhibit some true spirit and adept quality in this BLOG.. Yup u re rite, its time to celebrate

Our blog is 50 posts young now :) Hip Hip Hurray to all those who made this possible. And who knows if we run a count thru the comments posted, we will all be taken for a ride. Probably that has reached a score of Triple Century >> Watch out Sehwag and Lara, there is competition on tetric centuries being given by our strong and sublime blog which has stood the withers of time.

Lets take this in our stride and move forward in posting and hosting many more interesting posts, videos, music and graphs (thanks to lieutenant Jeffrey :)).. Every individual has a role in this. And it has been a moment of truth to one and all that, united we stand and the wall is impenetrable. So we shall have more fun while the world watches and admires our potential.

Lets not get carried away. Although we've made it, I wanna take this moment to look forward and not loose pace neither interest. You know the reason we have been going like a cheetah without friction>> When times were harsh and a couple of our members found it tough to strike a balance, there was great ownership quality exhibited by others who supported like a pillar and made this happen. So this is wat u call a backbone. Its not just one bone of the spine that supports the human body. Its called the SPINAL CORD. We have shown some humble, courageous and true ATTITUDE... Cheers to all my high flyers :)

FINANCE

Everyone right from the top level to the layman knows the 'HYPED' word recession. But how many of us knows the meaning of it ? We have heard about stocks in our fm class and most of us would have treated it as an easy subject which can be crammed the night before the exams . We might not have cared when our parents were breaking their heads regarding how much tax they need to pay etc etc. But the time has come for us to pay taxes , get to know about all these stuff. Well they are not as confusing as they seem and may seem insignificant to us as they are all done by the payroll depts of our respective companies . But in the broader perspective its essential to understand what these thing s mean to decide how our money goes into what.

People may speak about stocks, saying that this is doing well this is doing bad etc. Investing in equities may seem risky but they are the one with the highest returns and when done properly can fetch us excellent returns. We should know about the current financial health of our country, the company which would enable us to invest in these schemes wisely.

For those who dont invest in stocks and are content with insurance schemes there are also other schemes like unit linked insurance mutual funds etc and all of them avail tax exemption for the amount paid as premium.

This lengthy explanation says a single message. It's our money and the investments we do are binding not only on us but on our future generations. So planning our investments wisely would help us in the long run .

Rather than depending on a chartered accountant on a third party to tell us in what state our investments are :as most people are now ignorant of what they have invested in ; its better we get to know these things .

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE - JUST ANOTHER ORDINARY FLICK

This is another of my unusually rare excursions to tinsel town which often end up in disaster.Sunday july 19 5.00 pm . i was excited. I was on the threshold of cinemax waiting for the show of Half Blood prince which had raised huge expectation. The Warner brothers logo had my heart racing . Then came the first few minutes where there was no dialogue and just cinematic effects . I still had my heart in my mouth . Relief came when harry uttered the dialogues in english. Thank God I had not bought tickets for a telugu version . Then onwards my expectations of the movie were still higher. But the first few minutes of the movie were only worth watching .The way the rest of the movie was taken seemed like the producers were hit by recession . No graphics , nothing , in addition to that the unsavoury romances of ron weasley. In short the movie can be said as another american teenage movie. Almost half of the storyline has been gobbled up .For HP fans this movie is something too hyped.

Do not hold to one doctor always

Hi friends,

I want to share this sadness and the lesson I learnt out of it. One of my friends[Aswath] expired last week. He had underwent a bypass at the age of 1. After all that I got to know from my friends, I learnt a good lesson and wanted to share it with everybody I know. His surgery at 1 happened at THE VERY FAMOUS hospital for heart treatment in Chennai in the hands of THE VERY FAMOUS DOC! He was going for regular checkup till 8th standard. At this point that doc has told everything is very fine now, you are normal, you can stop coming for checkup. True to that we have never seen him complain of chest pain. A fortnight ago he was about to leave for Dubai for taking up his job there. So he went to general checkup for KG. His heart bulged during checkup indicating clear abnormality. So those people went into further checkup and reported that the operation at 1 had gone terribly wrong and we cant do anything, you better take him quickly to that hospital. Same famous hospital, same famous doc told that operation can be done now/never. If not done he will survive for 3 odd years. So parents praying for the best and hoping for the best sent him for getting operated.

Their decision was correct, I dare to fight with anybody who claims it was wrong, anybody can say cooly that the decision was wrong now, because the result is known now. Hope people dont hurt their parents still by telling that their decision was wrong.

Operation happend for 9 hours and immediately after the operation he was brain dead, but the hospital people told that he is in coma to his parents after 4 days!! Operation had failed terribly this time and this time he had to pay with his life. Money plays is all that I can say about this!!!

Before all this drama he had got placed in L&T, which medically rejected him, telling stupid reasons like - he underwent bypass at 1!!, he had tooth problem!! Something tells me that those people had sensed this abnormality! If only they would have told him the proper reason we could have taken him straight away to hospital.

It could have been avoided at all places, my friend shall be alive now if so. Never beleive when a doc says dont come for checkup in such cases. Never stick with one doctor, as clearly even the famous hospital, the famous doctor may be wrong.

Looking at his body I dint beleive he wont get up and talk, he wont laugh at me and make fun of me. We have shared so many things in common, we used to drive fast and whenever we could catch hold of one vehicle we both used to race, all that I am thinking now is he overtook me in this race which need not have ever happened at all. I dint cry... because I still dont beleive he is no more. He dint die, he was killed because of all this.

Please create this awareness to all whom you know. Tell everybody, one more life may be saved.

Praying for my dear friend Aswath Kumar to rest in peace.
