My novel journey – part 1
I dunno how to start wit t post.. All I want is to share few moments of my journey wit Chetan bagat’s novels.. some may feel weird.. bcoz in one of my older comments.. I hav mentioned that I don’t read books and t two novels I read in my life are Scarlet pimpernal and Tom sawyer… yeah that was true.. but now t case is different and read 3 of his novels :) :) I have to really thank this guy Chetan Bagat for bringing out this change in me.. His first novel “5.someone”, t story is abt 3 IIT guys.. There are many reasons why I started reading this novel.. Few are,
1. Aamir’s next movie 3 idiots is based on this novel.
2. One of my friends ridiculed me for not reading tis novel.
3. And moreover, the lead character’s name in the novel is Hari.
I completed this novel in 2 nights.. I wish 2 share my first night’s experience (with t novel),
I started this “five point someone” at around 9.some pm after dinner.. though I listed out many reasons, I really started this one to kill time.. :) but on contrary the story enthralled me and pulled me into it.. I neva felt like that bfore.. I felt like watching a movie in that book..:) I wanted to know the next and next… and finished three 4th of the book at around 3.some am t next day.. I really don’t want to close that.. but I have to go office t next morning… I kept alarm at 6 am, knowing that I won’t get up at 6.. after some hours… slowly I was opening my eyes.. tat sound was intolerable..:(:( I want to cancel the alarm and throw my cell away.. I took my cell with my half eyes open.. oh shit!!! That was not alarm.. tat was my cab driver calling at 8:45am for pickup.. f..k:( he had already given me 3 missed calls.. :(:( I called him back and asked him to leave telling him that I was not feeling well :( then I started getting ready for office.. I hav to spend 50 bugs for auto.. on each-day when I miss my cab.. I finally got one after denied for residency road by 4 autowalas.. I started at 9 30, reached office at 10:10.. I was thinking abt the novel in 2hourly basis, that is thinking once in 2 hours.. abt the remainder portion.. I returned back early that day to finish 5.sum1, I started at 7 and successfully completed tat around 10 pm sacrificing my dinner on that day.. :(
I could rate 10-10 for this novel.. I shared my novel experience with my sisters and few of my friends.. they cudnt believe me.. as they know tat I am a book-repellent :) Few months later, my sister presented me “3 mistakes my life” book.. bcoz of my new novel interest.. it had 3 friends.. alike 5.someone.. but t plot is different.. t book is mainly abt cricket and religion.. chetan used some real incidents like guj bhuj disaster and india-Aus match... though this novel fulfilled my expectations.. I cant get t ecstasy in his first novel.. except for the climax chapters.. which are really adrenalin pumping.. I completed tis book in 3 nites and 1 afternoon.. no funny reminiscence to remember wit this novel :( In part 2, i shall discuss about chetan's recent flick "2 states". catch u soon :) :)

Next day was the actual presentation. I had actually transitioned to the other team for presenting the slides as well. It went really well and I had been given the opportunity to the opening slides and concluding ones. Delighted David was. Hope we stuck the right chord. Then the rest of the day after the PPT was cool, Karaoke night.. dance floor.. dinner with the team and back to the hotel. One of the 6 guys in us is getting married in December. So we threw him a bachelor party.

A befitting climax was that the dinner in Air india was splendid and it made me drool that I requested for another hot pack and had twice the amount of listed dinner menu :)

FUNNY MAIL
Human Resources Manager was tragically hit by a bus and she died. Her soul arrived up in heaven where she was met at the Pearly Gates by St. Peter himself.
"Welcome to Heaven," said St. Peter. "Before you get settled in though, it seems we have a problem. You see, strangely enough, we've never once had a Human Resources Manager make it this far and we're not really sure what to do with you."
"No problem, just let me in," said the woman.
"Well, I'd like to, but I have higher orders. What we're going to do is let you have a day in Hell and a day in Heaven and then you can choose whichever one you want to spend an eternity in."
"Actually, I think I've made up my mind, I prefer to stay in Heaven", said the woman
"Sorry, we have rules..."
And with that St. Peter put the executive in an elevator and it went down-down-down to hell.
The doors opened and she found herself stepping out onto the putting green of a beautiful golf course. In the distance was a country club and standing in front of her were all her friends - fellow executives that she had worked with and they were well dressed in evening gowns and cheering for her. They ran up and kissed her on both cheeks and they talked about old times. They played an excellent round of golf and at night went to the country club where she enjoyed an excellent steak and lobster dinner.
She met the Devil who was actually a really nice guy (kind
of cute) and she had a great time telling jokes and dancing. She was having such a good time that before she knew it, it was time to leave. Everybody shook her hand and waved goodbye as she got on the elevator.
The elevator went up-up-up and opened back up at the Pearly Gates and found St. Peter waiting for her.
"Now it's time to spend a day in heaven," he said. So she spent the next 24 hours lounging around on clouds and playing the harp and singing. She had great time and before she knew it her 24 hours were up and St. Peter came and got her.
"So, you've spent a day in hell and you've spent a day in heaven. Now you must choose your eternity,"
The woman paused for a second and then replied, "Well, I never thought I'd say this, I mean, Heaven has been really great and all, but I think I had a better time in Hell."
So St. Peter escorted her to the elevator and again she went down-down-down back to Hell.
When the doors of the elevator opened she found herself standing in a desolate wasteland covered in garbage and filth. She saw her friends were dressed in rags and were picking up the garbage and putting it in sacks.
The Devil came up to her and put his arm around her.
"I don't understand," stammered the woman, "yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and a country club and we ate lobster and we danced and had a great time. Now all there is a wasteland of garbage and all my friends look miserable."
The Devil looked at her smiled and told...

Slice the Bread when its Freshly Baked
As seemingly absurd it is, so much true also ! The irony behind this is that, when you look closer you would realise that probably things are upside down today. All men are tied down to cooking and cleaning and have no say against his lawfully wedded hubby. Anybody who opposes this are free to go to news stands and magazine stores and pick up a Anantha vikatan, kumutham, India today or Thina thanthi and digest this truth. Not a single magazine has ever missed passing a non chalant joke over Indian men facing the trauma of being kitchen grounded or wife's commandment. Well, ladies and gentlemen thats wat we are currently looking at... 'War of the sexes' where does the term originate and in what sense?
"War of the sexes" is a phrase in plain English, it's beyond guessing when and where it started. The actual war, that is, the conflict between sexual roles, began when the first caveman said, "No, I'm not going to start the fire. You know how to do it, and it's your turn." Or his mistress said, "You hungry, you cook!".. In a more modern context, it usually involves confrontation in the battle for women's rights, such as the right to vote, or wear pants, or receive equal pay.
Whenever these conflicts are to some degree settled, new ones begin, for genetic reasons will start a new combat in this never-ending conflict. Here are some very modern realizations which would probably inflict and pitch well on those male chauvinists who still think they are the main cause of 360 degree planet earth spin and every woman who boasts she is the prime center of this globe and that every man is of no good unless he bumps into the magical woman....
"What would men be without women? Scarce, sir .. mighty scarce." -- Mark Twain
"A woman may be able to change the world, but she will never be able to change a man." -- Amy Snowden
"Behind every successful man is a surprised woman." -- Maryon Pearson
"In politics, if you want anything said, ask a man; if you want anything done, ask a woman." -- Margaret Thatcher
"Men are like a deck of cards. You'll find the occasional king, but most are jacks." -- Laura Swenson
"Woman was God's second mistake." -- Friedrich Nietzsche

Sachin is misplaced
Ever since people started speaking that Sachin was not a match winner I used to jump about and fight telling he has done his duty by hitting so many runs where did your other hero's vanish when Sachin was putting so much effort. And that is a true fact, how many of us can really forget seeing Sachin crying so many times and breaking down so many times. He is simply a genius, but I feel he is totally misplaced. Hardly have people stood beside him and given the support that ought to be given by a team.
When a single player puts in so much effort and scores nearly half of the target, how the hell can he be blamed for not playing a match winning innings?? No way he is a reason for India losing. Where did the so called awesome batting of the prided No.1 Batsman Dhoni go??
Indian team is not worth Sachin...
Sorry Rogers I took the pleasure of starting this first, but please do update your experience :)
The incident that shook my life completely
I dunno whr to start this but i wan u all to b aware of this.
Its abt my dad....
There was this day when my mom n dad went happily to my neighbour's daughter's wedding reception and came back home at night. The next day was normal with my dad getting ready for the office n mom preparing b'fast n lunch for him... Jus then he complained of having ache in his shoulder. N as always he gave self explanation that y'day's dinner might have caused bit of gas problem.
He started walkin, but after taking few steps he was not able to walk further and thought of going back home ( the greatest mistake which he din make ), but his cab came so he went 2 office.
But after reaching the office, he was not able to do ath. So his manager compelled him to go to hospital, which i know he wudnt hav done if nt for his boss. ( Usual act of evry parent). So he called my mom to take his medical book n come 2 hospital.
( our town has only GH n no private hospitals) .
After a clear examination, my dad was made to admit and they said that it was a general check up. And till that time no doctor came to visit. My mom thought there was no necessary to call any1 for help. To say, she s a very bold woman. But at late afternoon, she called one of our close frnds jus for help.
In the mean time, they took, ecg and xray and scan for dad. He was ok by then. He went to bathrooms thrice walkin and then was relaxing. By evening, a doctor came to visit, he then told my mom to call some one for help. My mom was confused, but she did call the uncle. My dad again stood up to go to bathroom, jus then a nurse came rushin in and said him not to. And the doctor immediately gave reference to chennai appollo . It was evening by then. The uncle too came for rescue.
They set off in an ambulance. By dad was speaking normally and at night asked my mom n the uncle to go and have their dinner and then they proceeded. By the time they reached appollo it was 11. And dey took my dad in stretcher and when they called him for some question he was numb. They called his name repeatedly but no response.
The doctors immediately put some injection and gave shock treatment for quite some time before they came to know he was alive.
In the meanwhile, a doctor took my uncle out of earshot of my mom and asked him to arrange for an ambulance coz dey thought my dad won b alive and he cant b brought back to life again.
It was his first severe attack. To exactly say second, coz doc said he had a minor attack when in travel.
I dunno wat to say, if it is by means of God's grace , my dad made it.
Then the regular treatment and they did angioplasty ( they put a small stent inside the artery to let blood pass through ). And he was finally out of hospital after some 3 weeks and now he s leading a normal life.
Now let me list out the mistakes that happened during the procedure which resulted for his attack.
1. The doc in GH, they knew the variation in ECG but neva revealed it to my mom. If dey had done it, she wud hav taken him immediately to appollo and this wudnt hav become this complex.
2. when they identify such variation, the patient is not allowed to walk , coz it means he gives more pressure to his heart which risks his heart attack
3. The doc shud have given an injection immediately after identifying the variation in order to release the pressure in heart, which dey neva did in GH.
N not less my dad. He had BP and doc gave him tablets in which he happily left over a tab called 'ecosprin' 5 yrs back which is very necessary not for BP but for the heart. It is used to purify the blood coming to heart.
If any 1 had been correctly followed, now v won b in such a mentality of fear each and evry day. U dunno guys, each n evry day if my parents don pick up the phone the fear that sweeps through me is like . i dunno how to say. Even if i go home, if my dad fails to snore i wake up n look at him and in the morning if he wakes up late, i ll go n check in his room for his breath.
I neva intended to write this post, but the recent incident when one of my dad's collegue died . He was jus 39, leaving his 2 chilren, 1 s in 1st std n another in 7th. His wife was mentally affected coz of this. His youngest child was nt even aware dat his dad died and was playing in his funeral.
Now i wud like to take things seriously. Let me tel the symptoms of heart attack.
- It is not always necessayry to have a pain in heart
- He ll b suffering from fever and diarrhoea for 1 weeks time
- Pain in shoulders and spinal
N its growing enormously with the IT field with no physical work to do and stress at large amount. SO in case you find any person with these kind of symptoms, ask dem nt 2 b lethargic.

First marriage in my friends circle
Kudos to irctc tatkal I had to book a sitting bus in last minute, which I thought would be a great spoiler, but I was blessed with a sound sleep that night to my own astonishment, yes I really slept in a sitting bus! First time ever in my life I suppose, thanks to Citrix for the heavy work :)
I was taking a bus to Madurai, which was 2 hours away from Dindukkal, I was off to the place which a partial reason for my name - My father was working in Madurai when I was born. I was born on Meena rasi too, so they decided to give me this name :) My cousin brother has currently positioned his tent in Madurai. We both expected me to reach the place by 9.30 or so, and to our shock and surprise I reached by 6.30 -> GOK how the KPN driver managed, thank God I slept off!
He had two kids[girls], was looking forward to have a great time with them as they already knew me very well as my brother stayed for nearly three years just next street to us. But alas they were sleeping when I went. Had dosa for a good change I was not the maker :P [I have started cooking and must say that it is not very tough :)] then those sweet buddies got up. It was really awesome to hear them call me "Athai", I have ever and will ever long for not having an athai :( Athai is father's sister. My father's side family is much restricted to my father and his own brother and my grandmother's own brother family. My grandfather used to say that his brother's and all were bad people so they used to stay away from them, whatever it was I dint have an athai to hear "அத்தை மடி மெத்தையடி ஆடி விளையாடம்மா" :(
Then I had a sound sleep :) then a heavy lunch. Then playing with those kids again :) Around 3.30 finally I decided to start and my brother dropped me at bust stand and I took a Govt bus, with seat near the door, wow I was very lucky.
The travel was unforgettable. "மண்வாசனை" was ever lingering with fresh rains having played with it and more joyfully willing to come. The path was so serene that I was feeling totally peaceful, no laptop, no shecheduled tasks, no coding, no accomplishment of targets. This was really beauty. Either side were hills and few more taller ones allowing them to be called small mountains. There were so many of them. The series went on and the final hill or mountain seem to be the sky itself. The blissful blue colour that they took gradually was a perfect match to the sky blue.
The mail glory creator was adding on to the ecstasy, the Sun, it luminously decorated the clouds. There was a stong beauty competiton between the sky, the sun, the hills/mountains and the clouds and finally putting myself as judge "together it was heaven :)".
Such a journey at this hectic period of life was an ice breaker. Surely it was a must and it proved to be much more worthful :)
At last I reached the place and was off to madapam, it really felt good to witness first marriage among our friends circle. There was Yaazh showing all sings of a girl ready for reception, she looked strikingly beautiful. And slowly everyone came and we had a great time together enjoying every moment of the ocassion, with so much of care given to us by Yaazh's parents. And the next day came with the marriage ceremony getting over -> there blossomed Mrs.Yaazhisai Parthiban, it is indeed a very significant day for her, the next afterwhich her entire lifestyle would change.
Then back to Madurai, enjoyment with my brother kids :)
Altogether the trip was simply awesome.
PS: You might have wondered why the whole post was full of text with no photos. This was a blow, last time when I went home I forgot to get back my camera :( But must say these images shall never leave my mind. Everything will ever stay captured there :)
