Economic Crisis.. Credit Crunch.. Global Recession.. GDP Decline.. Subprime Mortgage Crisis.. Deflation.. Financial pitfall.. Stock market plunge.. Worldwide Economic Depression.. Unemployment and Foreclosures........ All these terms are related to the current scenario the planet around us is facing. The general slowdown in economic activity and Production units measured by Employment, Investment Spending, Business Profits, Household Incomes all fall during this crisis.
Moment of truth and comedy behind tragedy being that we are also one of the victims. Losing jobs and Fighting for the next one is no different from our situation. Its just that we luckily have got the back seat in this roller coaster ride and suffer less compared to some of our friends who once thought that they were also in safe hands, but unexpectedly ended up waiting indefinitely for this storm to pass through, so that they can also achieve the plans they had walked in with into PSG Tech. Taking nothing away from this twisted scene, do you guys remember the hassle we all went through for our placements. The butterfly effect, nervous interviews, nailbiting final rounds.. Ellam irunthum jobs kidacha niraya peru innum waiting queue la infinite ah deadlock situation eppa mudiyum endru aavaludan kaathirukaanga.
We shld all be grateful to the supernatural forces that the company we've enrolled for is in a half decent state and we all have been taken on board. Atleast we guys were gifted enough to see that many companies and had the opportunity to walk in and walk out of that placement office with more or less good chances, but look at our predecessors... They have very limited options and more than manageable competition to get through. So I would cal myself and my clan of Freedom Writers LUCKY :D
So the ideal thing to do at this point of time is to gather vast experience with some good exposure in the journey and await the doors to open wide in a couple of years and pursue what we really wanted to or fascinated to. To start off life, this is not bad at all. So, however much you had to compromise, suffer, struggle and bare with the uncomfortable cumbersome experiences we might have to go through as part of this new job and tough sharpenings in the name of learning I would say pull yourself together to stay calm and composed. Tell yourself "Excellence is not a singular act, it is when you unrealizingly dedicate yourself to swim through the problems and break through the obstacles to reach the other end of the tunnel and look back in glory to tell yourself "..You deserve it and its only the beginning to many more of such mind blowing arduous adventures..." !
Rather than complaining about the problems surrounding the bee hive. We can look at it with some optimism ... "Nammala nambiyum inniku oru job and rewarding remuneration is waiting.. So we are worth something and we are destined to prove ourselves.." Lets take this up in defiance and nail each one of our difficult circumstances we face everyday as part of our job and raise to the occasion. After some retrospection I would assert that we repronounce the term "DIFFICULTY" as "CHALLENGE" in our dialect.
And also, taking this opportunity.. I would suggest all of us interact by exchanging some valuable information of what we do... Wat's the job nature and wat technology do we use to empower the project we are working on.! The kind of R&D involved in ur work and al the experimentations and learnings that came along. Above all, Who Am I - I aaaaam SpiderMan. Athu than illai, wat is ur designation exactly nu sollunga

ReplyDeleteIt was very inspiring to read :)
ReplyDeleteI am a Software Test Engineer, testing a product called NetScaler -> to put it simply it is a product that sits in front of the server and offloads many of the server's jobs's like compression and also acts as a Load Balancer.
I am running a testing phase now which is testing the basics of all the features of the product as soon as a build is released.
This involves both manual and automated testing -> which is very intersting. Automation is done with Perl, I am an ardent fan of Perl now :P Seriously when compared to C, C++ and Java, Perl is like God language :) Do try it.
Great.. Wat i wanted to hear was this... Perl is godly.. But I havent experienced its gimmicks yet. Hope to one day

ReplyDeleteI am working with OSPFv3 and RIP protocols.. I have to develop automated scripts to test these features.. and manual testing wherever automation is not feasible.. This has to be done for every build release..
Apart from perl.. i hv worked with tcl(tool command language).. most of the network tools use this language..
Hmmm... kalakunga da.. Power Tool Perl is. How re u coping up with networks?
