This is from the recent novel paths of glory by Jeffrey archer. The novel is based on the life of george leigh mallory :) a mountain climber. The mountaineering fraternity is divided as who reached the top of everest , whether it was george mallory or hillary. I dont want to spoil the thrill of reading the book by revealing the storyline . Hence i quote archer himself towards the end of this post:
"Some people have dreams so outrageous that if they were to achieve them their place in history would be guarenteed. B ut what if one man had such a dream and when he'd fulfilled it, there was no proof that he had achieved his ambition?
Paths of Glory is the stiry of such man. But not until u have turned the last page of the novel will u be able to decide if george mallory shouold be added to the list of legends,because if he were,another name would have to be removed"

ReplyDeleteNot too much of a revelation though. I am too a die-hard fan of archer's.. there has not been even a single page of his books ve i felt bored or lost.. brilliant
I too like Archer's a lot :) But pity thing is I gifted this book to my father, but have not had the chance of reading it myself :(
